Paper Submission Guidelines

In collaboration with the MB4SE advisory group, the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), OHB System, and the Bremen City University of Applied Sciences invite prospective authors to submit papers for presentation at the fifth edition of the Model-based Space Systems and Software Engineering workshop – MBSE 2024!

We invite you to submit short papers (original and not published or proposed elsewhere, ranging from four to six pages A4 in size, one additional page may be added for references) as a contribution to the workshop. You can submit these papers without firmly registering to the workshop. However, with the submission of a paper and the later acceptance you will be pre-registered to the workshop, which is not binding. In order to give an accepted presentation during the workshop it is required that the presenting author registers firmly to the workshop. Therefore, with the acceptance notification, we will provide you with a link under which you will have the possibility to finalize your registration, which will then be binding.

You will find all information about registration and the workshop fee soon on this webpage.

Please submit the final PDF version of your contribution via the website of the MBSE2024 Workshop before the submission deadline. Submissions via Email or fax are not accepted. Accepted contributions are expected to be presented on-site. Early registration and employer publication consent are mandatory for inclusion in the final workshop programme.

No late submissions will be accepted. All papers must be submitted in English.

Update of Paper for Workshop Programme - EXTENDED

All submitted short papers will undergo peer review by a committee of field experts. Given the competitiveness of our past events, we encourage authors to focus on quality and thorough preparation. In case your contribution is selected, you may be asked to adjust your short paper based on the reviewers’ comments. For the workshop programme, this revised version, must be available no later than 31 March 2024. You are required to submit only one version of your paper. Please also note that depending on the total number of papers we receive, it might be necessary to limit the number of presentations given by the same participant.

Q:  How will my paper be presented at the workshop?

Please indicate your preference regarding the presentation style: oral or poster during the abstract submission. The final choice on oral/poster presentation is subject to the decision of the Programme Committee. Depending on the type of paper and its content, the Program Committee may allocate it to a poster session rather than an oral presentation.

Q: What are the selection criteria?

The selection of papers will be made on the following criteria:

  • General interest of the subject
  • Relevance to the objectives covered by the conference
  • Originality of the material presented
  • Clarity of the paper

Please consider the paper template (For download here.) for your paper submission and also:

- Clearly reference the applicable workshop objective(s) on the first line of the paper.

- Ensure that contributions (e.g. paper and presentation) are cleared for publication by the
employer, or any other party involved.

- Consent to the recording and publication of both the talk and paper on the conference website.

- Cross-submission to SECESA 2024 is allowed if contributions' focus is non-overlapping.
