ESA Academy Student Sponsorship

The ESA Education Office is pleased to sponsor the attendance of up to 3 tertiary education students to attend MBSE 2024 in the frame of the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme. The sponsorship will cover the early bird student registration fees (directly paid by ESA Education Office) and provides a maximum reimbursement of EUR 550 towards travel and accommodation expenses, which will be reimbursed via a single bank transfer after the event and will only be paid upon submission of receipts.



Applications for sponsorship should be submitted no later than Friday, 15 March, 2024 at 23:59 CET. Note that only students who fullfill all criteria for the application and submit all requested documents and supplements will be eligible for the sponsorship. You will be informed of the success of your application for sponsorship early April.

To be eligible for an ESA Education Sponsorship, students must fulfil the following criteria at the time of application:

  • be over the age of 18 at the time of application;
  • submit a short video of 2min length pitching yourself, your interest in and experience with MBSE and your thoughts about the future of MBSE, answering the following questions:
    • What will be the state of MBSE in 10 years?
    • How would you contribute to advance the state?
  • OR submit an essay answering said questions, not exceeding 1 page of A4 size
  • be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Canada, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia or Lithuania;
  • be enrolled as a student (Bsc, Msc, or Ph.D.) in a tertiary education academic programme (not graduating before the Conference);
  • not benefit from an overlapping financial support to attend this conference, unless duly justified; 
  • agree with the conditions of the ESA Academy’s Privacy Policy


Priority will be given to students who have never taken part in an activity sponsored by the ESA Education Office.

The ESA Academy requires active participation of sponsored students in the workshop. Therefore, selected candidates are required to present a paper (if you have submitted one, please indicate it in the form) or a poster at the conference reflecting the topics mentioned in the pitch video and in the submitted essay. The sponsorship may also be applied to the Hackathon, please indicate this as well.

The decision by the Selection Committee will be communicated early April 2024.
